Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Rochester, NY)

Cedar Vista Learning Group runs classrooms and tutoring across the Rochester area, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Collaboration between teachers and staff is strong. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around attendance records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with family communication. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Rochester, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
