Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Rochester, NY)

Amberfield Timber Learning Group runs classrooms and tutoring across the Rochester area. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 24 people based in Rochester. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to enrolment, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with enrolment. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Rochester. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
