Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Rochester, NY)

Harborlight Glen Transit Planning helps transport agencies around Rochester design routes and schedules, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our fixed assets. We value plain explanations. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to route schedules, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with route schedules. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Rochester. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
