Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Richmond, VA)

Stonegate Forge Environmental Services serves homes and businesses with collection and disposal in Richmond, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our fixed assets. We take pride in clean streets. What you will do • Track costs around collection routes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with weigh tickets. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Richmond, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
