Senior Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Fernwood Meridian Foods Partners is a Columbus food manufacturer supplying grocers and food-service customers. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around sanitation schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to cold storage, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with cold storage. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Columbus. • We reply to every applicant.
