Senior Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Fernwood Granite Staffing Group is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for client orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Speed and follow-up matter. What you will do • Track costs around retention against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client orders, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with client orders. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Dallas. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
