Senior Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Bright Union Banking Services is a community-focused bank in Madison serving households and small businesses. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around branch operations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Madison. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
