Senior Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Fernwood Wren Banking Services Group is a community-focused bank in Tucson serving households and small businesses, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our fixed assets. We keep decisions close to customers and expect people to explain things plainly. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to loan files, and clear open items. • Track costs around fraud alerts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with loan files. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Tucson. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
