Senior Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Fernwood Ashton Legal Group is a Savannah practice with attorneys, paralegals and client-service staff, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around court deadlines against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to intake forms, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with intake forms. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Savannah. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
