Senior Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Bright Umber Telecom builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the Jackson area, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Track costs around service installations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer tickets, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with customer tickets. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Jackson. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
