Senior Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

We are growing our team at Ironwood Bridge Freight and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around customer tracking against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to carrier rates, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Grand Rapids. • We reply to every applicant.
