Senior Accountant - fixed assets (remote)

Greenridge Birch Environmental Services is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for recycling loads, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We take pride in clean streets. What you will do • Track costs around collection routes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with recycling loads. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Rochester. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
