Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Phoenix, AZ)

Lumen Nest Water Authority is a public water utility serving the Phoenix area. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on fixed assets. Crews and office staff work closely together. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around meter reading against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with pipe repairs. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
