Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Philadelphia, PA)

Amberfield Loom Early Learning runs childcare centres in Philadelphia caring for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Children come first and so does looking after the teachers. What you will do • Track costs around licensing records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
