Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Philadelphia, PA)

Harborlight Birch Farms is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for grower contracts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We are a family-run business at heart. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Philadelphia, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
