Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Philadelphia, PA)

Bluepeak Basin Civic Services supports public agencies in Philadelphia with budgeting, records and programmes. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 36 people based in Philadelphia. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around procurement against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with budget submissions. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Philadelphia. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
