Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Orlando, FL)

We are growing our team at Nova Pike Construction and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. Good people move up quickly. What you will do • Track costs around change orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with materials orders. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Orlando, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
