Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Oakland, CA)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Corner Property Management and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of about 631 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to resident events, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around unit turnovers against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with resident events. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Oakland. • We reply to every applicant.
