Senior Accountant - fixed assets (New Orleans, LA)

Harborlight Cobalt Early Learning runs childcare centres in New Orleans caring for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our fixed assets. We celebrate small wins and steady routines. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to family communication, and clear open items. • Track costs around licensing records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with family communication. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in New Orleans. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
