Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Memphis, TN)

Fernwood Field Staffing is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for retention, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to retention, and clear open items. • Track costs around timekeeping against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with retention. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Memphis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
