Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Memphis, TN)

Bright Forge Freight Group moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Memphis. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Memphis. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to carrier rates, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Memphis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
