Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Madison, WI)

Redstone Umber Hospitality Partners is a hospitality company in Madison with restaurants, rooms and catering, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Madison. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around housekeeping schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to reviews and feedback, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Madison, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
