Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Louisville, KY)

Foxglove Mill Energy is an energy provider in Louisville focused on reliable service and fair billing. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on fixed assets. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meter readings, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Louisville. • We reply to every applicant.
