Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Knoxville, TN)

Foxglove Amber Press is a printer and publisher in Knoxville serving local and national clients, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 105 people based in Knoxville. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to proofing, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Knoxville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
