Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Knoxville, TN)

Nova Maple Manufacturing manufactures parts and assemblies at its Knoxville plant. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 21 people based in Knoxville. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around work orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Knoxville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
