Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Knoxville, TN)

Summit Union Care Services is a social-care provider serving older adults and people with disabilities around Knoxville, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Teams support each other, especially on hard days. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around visit scheduling against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to licensing, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with licensing. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Knoxville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
