Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Kansas City, MO)

Nova Thistle Early Learning runs childcare centres in Kansas City caring for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around tuition and subsidies against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meal programmes, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with meal programmes. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Kansas City. • We reply to every applicant.
