Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Jackson, MS)

Westbrook Granite Markets operates grocery and general-merchandise stores around Jackson, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Managers started on the floor. What you will do • Track costs around pricing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Jackson. • We reply to every applicant.
