Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Jackson, MS)

Northwind Cross Inspection Services provides independent inspection and testing for industry across Jackson. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Jackson. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to equipment calibration, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around client sites against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Jackson. • We reply to every applicant.
