Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Jackson, MS)

Bright Quill Foods is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for ingredient orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 117 people based in Jackson. What you will do • Track costs around production batches against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to ingredient orders, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with ingredient orders. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Jackson. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
