Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Jackson, MS)

Fernwood Keystone Civic Services provides shared administrative services to local governments around Jackson. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 13 people based in Jackson. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to procurement, and clear open items. • Track costs around case files against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Jackson, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
