Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Houston, TX)

Stonegate Pike Property Management is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for rent collection, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 50 people based in Houston. What you will do • Track costs around lease renewals against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to rent collection, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with rent collection. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Houston, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
