Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Grand Rapids, MI)

Clearpath Oak Arts Center runs a venue and education programmes in Grand Rapids. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to visitor services, and clear open items. • Track costs around event logistics against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
