Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Grand Rapids, MI)

Amberfield Birch Telecom Group builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the Grand Rapids area. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around outage reports against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with service installations. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Grand Rapids. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
