Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Fresno, CA)

Redstone Cedar Civic Services provides shared administrative services to local governments around Fresno, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to constituent requests, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around budget submissions against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Fresno. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
