Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Detroit, MI)

We are growing our team at Ironwood North Staffing and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of about 209 people based in Detroit. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to timekeeping, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around client orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with timekeeping.
