Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Colorado Springs, CO)

Summit Rook Water Authority operates treatment plants and pipelines around Colorado Springs, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Colorado Springs. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around pipe repairs against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to treatment plant data, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
