Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Cleveland, OH)

Harborlight Thistle Community Partners is a nonprofit in Cleveland supporting families with food, housing and job help. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on fixed assets. Mission matters here, and so does looking after staff. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to grant reporting, and clear open items. • Track costs around donor records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with grant reporting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Cleveland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
