Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Chicago, IL)

Ironwood Birch Legal Group is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for billing records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Confidentiality and accuracy are taken very seriously. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around court deadlines against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with billing records.
