Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Charlotte, NC)

Highbridge Amber Insurance is an insurance company in Charlotte with claims and service teams. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of about 251 people based in Charlotte. What you will do • Track costs around underwriting files against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with catastrophe response. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Charlotte. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
