Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Charlotte, NC)

Westbrook Farms is an agricultural business based around Charlotte, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Seasons are busy and the rest of the year is for planning. What you will do • Track costs around packing house output against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
