Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Buffalo, NY)

We are growing our team at Amberfield Umber Energy and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around service connections against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meter readings, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Buffalo. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
