Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Boston, MA)

Amberfield Haven Early Learning is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for classroom supplies, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Boston. What you will do • Track costs around meal programmes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to classroom supplies, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with classroom supplies. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Boston, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
