Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Austin, TX)

We are growing our team at Nova Fern Energy and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a large organisation of about 409 people based in Austin. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to billing disputes, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around outage response against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Austin. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
