Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Virginia Beach, VA)

Bluepeak Field Staffing is a Virginia Beach staffing firm for warehouse, office and healthcare roles. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Virginia Beach. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around retention against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to temp assignments, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with temp assignments. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Virginia Beach. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
