Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Tucson, AZ)

Bright Cobalt Learning Group is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on audit preparation for learning materials, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 41 people based in Tucson. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to learning materials, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with learning materials. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Tucson, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
