Senior Accountant - audit preparation (St. Louis, MO)

Silverline Orchard Transit Planning is a transit-planning firm in St. Louis working with agencies and riders, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our audit preparation. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around accessibility audits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in St. Louis, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
