Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Seattle, WA)

Fernwood Wilder Insurance sells home, auto and small-business insurance in Seattle. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 48 people based in Seattle. What you will do • Track costs around claims against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to policy renewals, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
