Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Sacramento, CA)

Highbridge Harbor Freight coordinates shipments and warehousing around Sacramento. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on audit preparation. On-time is the promise and we work hard to keep it. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to carrier rates, and clear open items. • Track costs around proof of delivery against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with carrier rates. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Sacramento, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
