Senior Accountant - audit preparation (Rochester, NY)

Bluepeak Iron Auto Group operates automotive service and parts businesses around Rochester. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on audit preparation. You would join a small organisation of about 19 people based in Rochester. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service appointments, and clear open items. • Track costs around supplier deliveries against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
